Mr Gay World South Africa 2019 host city announced

It is with great excitement that we announce the host city for Mr Gay World™ South Africa 2019.

After much consideration, Mr Gay World™ South Africa, has chosen to host the annual event in Nelson Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth. All details relating to the event will be relayed online and in the media.

Applications for this prestigious event is open until 15 October 2019 and anyone can enter at www.mrgwsa.com/entry-form. This is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ members across South Africa to highlight the plight and success of the LGBTQ+ community as well as gain tremendous exposure for themselves and their causes.

The Top 12 Finalists for Mr Gay World™ South Africa will be announced on Saturday 26 October 2019 at Johannesburg Pride.

The Mr Gay World™ South Africa competition is looking for a well-groomed, well-spoken South African representative for the upcoming Mr Gay World™ Competition in 2020, someone that champions the causes of the LGBTQ+ community and has the votes and support of the public.

The question is,  who will be  Mr Gay World™ South Africa 2019?

Entries for Mr Gay World South Africa 2019 are open

Fancy representing South Africa’s LGBTQ community to the world? Then consider applying to become the next Mr Gay World South Africa.

The organisers of the annual contest have announced that entries are now open for the 2019 title through the official website.

The competition is described as an opportunity for aspiring public representatives “to take on the challenge of highlighting the plight and celebrating the successes of the LGBTQ+ community.”

Applications will remain open on the website until 15 October 2019.

The process has moved to Pride of Africa month with the finalists representing themselves at Pride of Africa events as a build up to the top 12 finalists of Mr Gay World South Africa 2019 announcement at Johannesburg Pride on Saturday 26 October 2019.

The public will have the opportunity to support their favourite contestant and add their voice to help choose South Africa’s representative in the Mr Gay World™ Competition in 2020.

This will be followed by a selection process, based on public voting (online), judges’ voting and adjudication and engagement on various social media platform based on criteria set out by the competition’s directors and board.

“The Mr Gay World South Africa competition is about searching for a well-groomed, well-spoken and truly representative individual who will do us proud in the upcoming Mr Gay World™ Competition in 2020,” said Antonie Pieterse, National Producer for Mr Gay World South Africa.

The current Mr Gay World South Africa is Chris Emmanuel, a gym owner from Knysna. In May he competed in the Mr Gay World 2019 pageant in Cape Town, which was won by Janjep Carlos from the Philippines.
